Twelve years of dispatch runs across Bluffdale means five service vans on the same neighborhood streets week after week. Independence at the Point in the morning. Redwood Road at noon. Porter Rockwell Estates in the afternoon. Wardle Fields Regional Park for a Little League practice on Saturday. Everyone on the crew lives inside Salt Lake or Utah County. That’s not a coincidence and it’s not a marketing angle — when the community that pays your bills is the same community your kids grow up in, showing up for it isn’t optional. This page documents the sponsorships, volunteer projects, mentorship programs, and charitable work Bluffdale Heating and Air Conditioning has committed to since 2013.
Bluffdale Old West Days is the city’s signature annual celebration, held the last weekend of June at Wardle Fields Regional Park and along the Redwood Road corridor. The festival honors Bluffdale’s founding heritage, including Orrin Porter Rockwell’s 1858 purchase of the Crystal Hot Lakes property and the pony express station he operated there. We have served as a presenting sponsor since 2019, contributing $8,500 annually plus in-kind HVAC support for the vendor tents, dunk booth infrastructure, and the community stage on the main lawn. Donald Salmons personally staffs the sponsor booth on Saturday afternoon to answer HVAC questions from homeowners who want to talk shop instead of buying a raffle ticket.
Wardle Fields is the 40-acre flagship of the Bluffdale park system — splash pad, 25-foot watchtower climbing structure, pickleball and basketball courts, bouldering wall, zip lines, and the network of paths that connect the park to the wider Bluffdale trail system. The Salt Lake County Parks Department runs quarterly volunteer maintenance days for path repair, invasive weed removal along the Jordan River corridor, and playground equipment inspection. Our entire field crew — Donald, Marcus, Elena, Kade, and Rachel from the office — participates in the spring and fall workdays every year. We provide the trucks and tools; the county provides the day passes and the volunteer coordination.
Jordan School District serves Bluffdale, Riverton, Herriman, South Jordan, and adjacent Salt Lake County communities through five traditional and four charter schools inside Bluffdale. The district hosts an annual career day for eighth graders and juniors at Riverton High School, Bingham High School, and Mountain Ridge High School. Donald Salmons and Elena Marquez present the HVAC pathway session — covering the Utah DOPL apprenticeship program, the Salt Lake Community College HVAC associate degree (which Kade Peterson completed in 2020 before joining us), and starting compensation for licensed journeyman technicians in the Salt Lake Valley market. The presentation isn’t recruitment. The trades need a pipeline larger than any one company’s hiring pace, and the district’s counselors need current information to advise students who don’t plan to attend a four-year university.
Chamber membership matters less for the networking than for the coordination on city-adjacent projects: Bluffdale City Building Services permit process feedback, small-business advocacy on Utah state legislative sessions affecting contractor licensing, and coordination on the Porter Rockwell Boulevard commercial corridor expansion. Donald Salmons has served on the Chamber’s Small Business Committee since 2020 and rotates through the annual leadership council every third year.
Every year from mid-November through mid-December, we park one of our service vans at the 14659 S 855 W office and collect non-perishable food donations for the Utah Food Bank. Customers can drop off donations any weekday during business hours, and every homeowner who contributes gets a coupon for $25 off their next service call or tune-up. The van typically fills three or four times through the six-week drive — roughly 1,800–2,400 pounds of food routed to the Utah Food Bank’s Salt Lake distribution center, which then reaches food pantries across Salt Lake, Utah, and Davis Counties. The 2025 drive collected approximately 2,240 pounds. The 2024 drive collected 1,890. The trend line is up.
Habitat for Humanity of Salt Lake builds affordable housing for qualifying families across the valley, with recent build sites in South Salt Lake, West Valley City, and Kearns. We volunteer install-day labor on two Habitat homes per year — typically a full HVAC install on each home including furnace, AC condenser, thermostat, filter cabinet, and commissioning. Habitat provides the equipment (frequently donated by Carrier or Lennox through the manufacturer’s corporate giving program). We provide the labor, expertise, and Manual J load calculation that sizes the system to the specific Habitat floor plan. Elena Marquez leads the install crew on Habitat days. The families who move in get the same commissioning printout every paying customer gets.
Bluffdale Little League fields six teams across the T-ball, coach-pitch, minor, and major divisions at the Wardle Fields ballpark and the Bluffdale Elementary school field. We sponsor the “Comfort Crew” minors team every spring season — sponsorship covers team uniforms, umpire fees for the full season, and end-of-season pizza party. Donald Salmons has coached the team in three separate seasons (2019, 2022, and 2024) when the league needed volunteer coaches. Marcus Wentworth’s daughter played on the Comfort Crew in the 2023 season, hitting .385 with a team-leading 12 RBIs.
Utah Warm Homes is a state-level program administered through the Utah Department of Workforce Services that provides emergency furnace replacement for income-qualified households whose primary heating system fails during the winter heating season. The program prioritizes households with children under 5, adults over 65, or documented medical conditions requiring reliable indoor temperature control. We are on the approved contractor list for the Salt Lake County service area. Emergency replacements dispatch same-day or next-day depending on ambient temperature. Labor is billed at the Utah Warm Homes negotiated rate (below our standard published pricing). Equipment ships through the state’s bulk purchase agreement with Carrier and Lennox. In 2025 we completed 14 Utah Warm Homes emergency replacements across Bluffdale, Riverton, Herriman, and South Jordan.
The Bluffdale City Emergency Preparedness Committee coordinates public communications around wildfire smoke events, PCAPS inversion red-burn days, and other air-quality-related public health advisories that affect Salt Lake Valley residents. During inversion season (November through February) and wildfire season (July through October), we serve as a technical resource for the committee on residential MERV filter selection, whole-home HEPA bypass options for asthmatic households, and safe practices during red-burn days when the Utah Division of Air Quality restricts wood-burning and outdoor fires. Kade Peterson is our primary point of contact with the committee. Guidance is published through the Bluffdale City newsletter and the city website ahead of forecasted inversion events.
Camp Williams sits directly south of Bluffdale and houses the Utah Army National Guard training facility and the NSA Utah Data Center. Every year the base hosts a family day for the National Guard soldiers stationed there and their families — typically the second Saturday of September. We donate service credit ($1,500 worth) to the family day raffle for HVAC tune-ups and IAQ upgrades, which the base command distributes to soldiers and families through their internal drawing. Guard members and their families also receive a standing 10% discount on our published service rates.
Beyond the Utah DOPL apprenticeship pipeline through the Jordan School District career day presentation, we participate directly in the Wasatch Front HVAC Trade Association’s formal apprenticeship program. Elena Marquez has served as a mentor for two apprentices since 2021 — each apprentice completing the full 4-year on-the-job training requirement toward Utah DOPL journeyman licensure while shadowing Elena’s install crew. Both current apprentices are in their third year and on track to test for journeyman status in 2027.
Sponsorship inquiries, volunteer coordination for Wardle Fields workdays, Utah Warm Homes emergency dispatch, Habitat for Humanity install-day scheduling, and general community involvement questions all route through the office at 14659 S 855 W. If your organization is planning a community event or fundraiser that fits our sponsorship criteria (Bluffdale, Riverton, Draper, Herriman, Lehi, or South Jordan focus; family or trades-adjacent programming), call the office or email the address below.
